There is great interest in the literature regarding the discovery of new ways to lead and manage organizations. This research hopes to add to this literature by systematically describing the Bahá'í model of consultation, and assessing its applicability for business leadership and management.;One specific question to be explored is if and how Bahá'í business owners and managers in the metropolitan New York construction industry apply Bahá'í consultation in their workplace environment. Essentially two discovery strategies are utilized. Bahá'í business owners and managers are interviewed to assess if and how they incorporate Bahá'í consultation into their management practices, and to clarify impediments, challenges, and successes. Non-Bahá'í business owners and managers from the same industry and locale are interviewed for a comparison. The second strategy involves reflecting on my own consultative1 approach to management as practiced within the context of the same New York construction industry. Here, I consider how my Lifecycle of Corruption (©1999, Don Plunkett) is translated into practice.;1‘Consultative’ is not to be confused with management ‘consultation.’ This does not refer to management consultants but to management by a process of consultation.
