Cultural differences in grieving: Curriculum development for helping professionals
详细信息
文摘
The purpose of this project was to create a curriculum that increases knowledge and awareness for individuals in the helping professions when working with clients dealing with grief and loss associated with death. For helping professionals, it is important to have a foundation of understanding about the significance grief has in relation to a person's life and culture. To accomplish this goal, the curriculum addresses the following topics: types and models of grief; common and evidence-based interventions; and cultural differences focusing on the spiritual practices: Latino, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Chinese, and Korean Americans.
