This paper describes the conception and execution of a visual mapping solution implemented to help analyze large sets of data collected by the Comcast Corporation. Comcast had been collecting data for a number of different elements across their business process,including hardware deployment,network performance,and customer support. These different data sources cover a wide range of aspects of the network,but they all impact the way that the business is run and the decisions that have to be made about how to optimize the use of resources. To make the best use of this data possible,we built a tool to unify all of the different data sets available into one common display to be used for correlation between data points by any user,even one without an in depth technical background.
