This study examined the personality and cognitive distortion profiles of female sex offenders after they had been charged with a sexual offense. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory &ndash； 2 RF and Multiphasic Sex Inventory &ndash； II were evaluated from 11 archived subject case files. Results found that personality characteristics varied greatly among the sample population. However, cognitive distortions including Ideas of Persecution (p ＝ .007 and p ＝ .01), and Denial and Justification (p ＝ .01) displayed clinical significance and suggested areas for addressing causation, treatment options and recidivism analysis for sexual offense perpetrators. Future research is needed in this area.
