In this document,we explore elliptic curves over the field of complex numbers and over finite fields of prime order. We discuss basic definitions,elliptic curve groups,and the relationship between elliptic curves and lattices curves over C,curves with complex multiplication,and the importance of the j-invariant in understanding the behavior of certain curves. Finally,we examine two elliptic curve algorithms: elliptic curve primality proving (ECPP),and a newer algorithm called reverse elliptic curve primality proving (rECPP).
