Kassab Abstract SummaryWe present an algorithm designed to extract accurate multi-dimensional heat flux distributions from surface temperature measurements which may be provided by narrow-band thermochromic liquid crystals (TLC). Here, thermography provides information with regards to the time it takes a particular point at the surface to reach a characteristic temperature at which the TLC responds. A quadratic functional is defined, sensitivity coefficients are determined analytically using a superposition principle, and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to solve the inverse problem. Results are presented for a numerical simulation. |
