摘要
Introduction: In cells infected with human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) down-regulation of MHC class I expression is observed. In the absence of functional MHC class I complexes, the infected cells will escape from destruction by cytotoxic T cells. Surprisingly, HCMV achieves this goal by multiple strategies involving different gene products. Four of these gene products, US2, US3, US6 and US11, were identified using recombinant HCMV's with overlapping deletions in the unique short (US) region.
