摘要
Collapsin is the first potent growth cone collapsing factor identified in chick embryonic brain. We have investigated effect of collapsin on axoplasmic transport in neuronal cells in cultured mouse dorsal root ganglia (DRG). Growth cone morphology, and the number and velocity of particles passing through the axoplasm were observed by use of inverted microscope equipped with a computer-assisted video-enhanced microscope. Collapsin concentration-dependently increased the number of particles passing through one region of a neurite, but produced no effect on the velocity of the axoplasmic transport. Pretreatment with pertussis toxin inhibited the effect of collapsin on growth cone morphology. This toxin, however, did not modify the effect of collapsin on axoplasmic transport. There appear to be at least two mechanisms by which collapsin exerts its cellular action in mouse DRG neurons.
