摘要
Patients infected with hepatitis B virus are at risk of reactivation when treated with chemotherapy for cancer or other immunosuppressive therapies for autoimmune diseases or organ transplantation. This reactivation is becoming worrisone as it can lead to severe life-threatening liver failure. The increased risk of reactivation even may appear in carriers of surface antigen, but can also occur in HBsAg negative patients with antibodies to core antigen. Antiviral prophylaxis against hepatitis B is indicated in patients at risk as it decreases the rate of reactivation, the risk of hepatitis and death, and its efficacy is superior in comparison with that obtained treating patients with an established hepatitis B reactivation.
