The conceptual elaborations of G. Gatian de Cl茅rambault are undissociable of the medical context of Infirmerie Sp茅ciale of the Pr茅fecture de Police, Paris. Atypical and brilliant author on theoretical and semiological levels, proponent of a clinique du regard, he mainly describes the syndroms of Mental Automatism and erotomania鈥?Present in the background, some of his more underrated works (about spiritist delirium, phylogenesis of the intellect and archaic thought鈥? will have an heuristic function, as taking part in the definition of his 鈥淒ogma鈥? We settle on a critical examination of the attitudes of G. de Cl茅rambault and about the psychopathological posterity of the Mental Automatism in the postmodern era.
