Abundance ranged from 155 to 6846 ind·10 cmP>−2 and revealed a sharply decreasing trend with increasing water depth. The densities were high on the upper part of the Danish margin and low in the central part of the deep Skagerrak. Also body lengths were significantly shorter on the Danish margin than elsewhere in the Skagerrak, indicating a greater importance of juveniles in this area. The metazoan meiofauna was largely dominated by nematodes.
