摘要
Vinyltriethoxy silane (VTES) films on iron (Fe/VTES) were investigated with EIS, XPS and FTIR after aging in air and immersion into 0.01 M Na2HPO4 solution. With the increasing exposure duration, charge transfer resistance of Fe/VTES increased indicating improvement of corrosion resistance. XPS analysis revealed for thin films the growth of iron oxides in air and of phosphates in the solution. Transformations in VTES films involved the formation of polysiloxanes, SiO2 related species, and ethanol. FTIR examinations showed the disappearance of vinyl groups in VTES after exposure to air, and appearance of -CO groups after immersion into phosphate solution.
