<p>Until recently only those patients with very simple congenital heart diseases managed to reach adulthood due to their natural tendency to survive. Today, the adult population with congenital cardiac anomalies is increasing, indicating cardiac surgery and with unknown outcomes.lass="h4">Objectives
<p>To study the adults with cardiac congenital anomalies who have been surgically intervened in the last ten years in the Murcia Health Service.lass="h4">Methods
<p>Statistical analysis and interpretation of the information extracted from the data base and clinical histories from the department of cardiac surgery.lass="h4">Results
<p>A total of 201 surgical interventions were performed on 193 patients, with a mean age of 35 years. Atrial septal defect was the most frequent pathology (39.4%). Mean survival of the series was 94.3%.lass="h4">Conclusions
<p>Due to advances in the management, adults with congenital heart disease have become a large volume in cardiac surgery. Congenital heart disease is no longer an exclusive childhood disease.
