Solvent induced semiconductor type conversion of MEH-PPV investigated by surface photovoltage spectra

摘要
Organic solvents play an important role in determining the type of MEH-PPV based electronic devices. In this article, with the help of the external electric field induced surface photovoltage spectra, we present evidence that MEH-PPV in aromatic solvents, such as chlorobenzene and xylene, show p-type semiconductor characteristics and n-type semiconductor characteristics in nonaromatic solvents, such as tetrahydrofuran and chloroform, due to their different conformation.
