摘要
Novel Eu<sup>2+sup> and Ce<sup>3+sup> activated BaMg<sub>8sub>Al<sub>18sub>Si<sub>18sub>O<sub>72sub> phosphors was prepared by combustion method and their PL characteristics were investigated. The result shows that all samples can be excited efficiently by near UV excitation under 334聽nm and 316聽nm. The emission was observed for BaMg<sub>8sub>Al<sub>18sub>Si<sub>18sub>O<sub>72sub>:Eu<sup>2+sup> phosphor at 437聽nm corresponding to d聽鈫捖爁 transition, under 334聽nm broad-band excitation, whereas BaMg<sub>8sub>Al<sub>18sub>Si<sub>18sub>O<sub>72sub>:Ce<sup>3+sup> phosphor shows emission band at 376聽nm under 316聽nm excitation. Phase purity of the phosphor was checked with the help of XRD pattern. SEM analysis shows the external morphology of the combustion synthesized phosphor.
