摘要
Formation of the negatively charged colloidal zirconium species (ZrO鈭?/sup>) at the cathode surface and low adhesion of the cathodic zirconium hydroxide deposit to the surface are common problems in the cathodic electrodeposition of ZrO2. For the first time, low-temperature electrodeposition has been applied in the cathodic electrodeposition of ZrO2. By using this route, nanoparticulates Zr(OH)4 and ZrO2 were successfully prepared. Morphological characterization showed that the particulates Zr(OH)4 and ZrO2 were agglomerated and formed the nanospheres with approximately 100 nm in diameters. Results of this work showed that low-temperature electrodeposition can be recognized as an alternative and facile route in the ZrO2 cathodic electrodeposition and preparation of its nanostructures.
