To study the use of acupuncture for labor induction in postterm pregnancies controlled in our center.
Observational cross-sectional study of 14 pregnant women, in which acupuncture was raised as the first choice for induction of labor at 41 weeks of gestation.
The time of onset of dynamic delivery with the use of acupuncture is < 48 h, being a well-accepted method for the patient with a postterm pregnancy. Causing the stimulation of certain points on the body, changes in the registry are objectivized in the non stress test.
Further studies are needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of acupuncture in the onset of labor and the cost savings that this could promote.
