Multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)-SiC composites by laminated technology

摘要
In this paper, MWCNTs-SiC composites were prepared by non aqueous tape casting and hot pressing. The dispersion of MWCNTs was investigated and correlated to the Hansen solubility parameters. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the obtained MWCNTs-SiC composites were studied. It was found that the MWCNTs were retained after sintering. An improvement in toughness was resulted with the MWCNTs content as low as 0.25 mass%. The present research provides a facile route for the preparation of ceramic-MWCNTs composites with improved properties.
