摘要
In order to control the coastal beach erosion, the numerical analysis of erosion control achieved for the coastal beach by the use of an artificial reef with an attached berm is carried out. The coastal beach erosion is more effectively controlled with an artificial reef than without one. An artificial reef with an onshore side berm is more effective than that with either an offshore side berm or a double-sided berm in controlling the coastal beach erosion. Furthermore, for such a berm location, the scouring area and depth are more extensive and deeper at the outside of the artificial reef than in the other two cases, respectively. Next, it is known that the smaller the incident wave angle is, the larger the coastal beach erosion occurs. The scouring area is maximized at the outside of the artificial reef for an incident wave angle of 0掳 and 15掳. The coastal beach erosion is not seriously affected at incident wave angles of 45掳 and 60掳. These erosion analysis results will find practical application in controlling the erosion process.
