摘要
A corotational formulation is developed for the extension ofinfinitesimal stiffness and mass matrices to large rotations. Theresulting formulation is applied and certified for a variety of testcases. One aspect which distinguishes the formulation is that not onlythe corotational residual was developed, but the consistent tangentmatrix as well. This fact accelerates the convergence rate of thenonlinear Newmark iterations and guarantees the convergence of the linesearch algorithm. The consistent tangent matrix also opens thepossibility for using the formulation for the study of structuralstability as well.
