Crystallographic analysis of special misorientations of the Σ9 type with an “octahedral” orientation {111}〈112〉 has been carried out. A hypothesis about the origination of the special misorientation Σ9 as a result of secondary twinning is suggested. A “rule of selection” has been proposed, according to which the formation of secondary twins with a crystal-lattice orientation close to {110}〈001〉 is possible upon rolling. The hypothesis allows us to explain the known fact of a small deviation of Goss grains from an ideal orientation in real electrical-sheet anisotropic steel (EAS) and a number of other experimental data.
