304-Cu SS has proved its broad-spectrum antibacterial properties in lab conditions.In order to investigate its antibacterial ability in daily life,the black sesame paste,juice and milk were selected as the medium for the antibacterial evaluation.Different air conditions,moist ( relative humidity > 90% ),dry ( relative humidity < 35% ) and dusty ( nearby the ash-bin),were also selected for evaluating the antibacterial properties of 304-Cu SS by the plate sedimentation method.It was found that 304-Cu SS showed obvious antibacterial properties in usual drinkings and different air conditions.The bacterial volume was always much more on 304 SS than on 304-Cu SS with time increasing.Bacteria in different medium and airs were much easily adhesive on 304 SS than on 304-Cu SS.Furthermore,drinkings were easily polluted by bacteria when they contacted with 304 SS,going bad in 2 days,while it lasted much longer when they contacted with 304-Cu SS.SEM observation also showed that bacteria in different medium might be Escherichia coli.This study can provide a novel and effective method for evaluating the antibacterial properties of antibacterial products in common circumstances.
