摘要

The main purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the effect of active magnesium in the production of ductile iron cast components as well as show the techniques of detection and control that nowadays are used for the melt quality characterization or evaluation.A major emphasis is made on thermal analysis that can be used for the detection of active magnesium in foundries.
