摘要
To dissolve the global water scarcity,membrane mediated water purification is surely a key player in the 21st century type water production system.New membranes for water purification are divided largely into two groups.The first group is the pursuit of existing membrane ultimate technology and the second group is the pursuit of future essential technology.Leading edge technology on commercially available membranes:Pursuit of existing membrane ultimate technology.Cross linked aromatic polyamides composite membrane is historically the most selected membrane for reverse osmosis.With basic & scientific researches on the membrane,the membrane performances are still in progress now.New analysis technology such as positronium annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) affords very important information on the pore size of membrane,and the relationship between the pore size and the performance.Precise estimation of the "Protuberance" structure on the membrane surface by transparent electron microscopy (TEM) also opens the new innovation to design high performance membranes.Innovative membranes in the research & development for polymeric membrane mediated water purification.Innovative membranes as materials are divided into three groups.(1) Organic polymeric membrane.(2) Organic-inorganic hybrid membrane.(3) Inorganic membrane.New organic-inorganic hybrid membrane will be presented.New organic-inorganic hybrid membrane shows much higher chlorine resistivity than conventional polyamide or cellulose acetate membranes even in non-green house condition.Due to a background of solving the global water problems,this research of the Mega-ton Water System started and promoted research,as planned,on a total of eight sub-topics.
