The development of technology and steel grade research for the thin slab caster in Tangshan iron and steelmaking company

摘要
The thin slab continuous casting and rolling production line in Tangshan Iron and Steelmaking Company ( TISCO) has been in operation for ten years,and the annual yield in past one year had been more than 3 million tons that may be a world ' s record in all similar production lines.With change of steel market situation,the improvement of product quality and the development of new steel grades in the thin slab continuous casting and rolling line had been the main focus gradually.Surface longitudinal crack and other defects in the slab are always serious quality problems for thin slab continuous caster,and in order to solve the longitudinal crack problem under the condition that adopting funnel-shape mould for the thin slab casting,the formation mechanism of surface longitudinal crack was investigated.The process characteristic of funnel-shape mould and determination of funnel shape for low carbon casting and medium carbon casting were analysed,and the results in present paper were a good theoretical foundation on the control of surface longitudinal crack defect.Moreover,the optimized physicochemical properties of mould powder for different steel grades were investigated simultaneously during the selecting test of funnel-shape mould,plus the physicochemical properties difference of the mould powder for normal slab caster and thin slab caster was compared,the shape-optimized submerged nozzles and the application performance of which in TISCO were introduced in the paper.Furthermore,the process characteristic,the product quality and the key control rules of high carbon steel( C = 0.40% - 0.70% ) in the thin slab caster were analysed.
