An integrated SPC solution helps in quality management in steelmaking company

摘要
SPC ( Statistical Process Control) is an ideal method to improve product quality and to make the manufacturing process stable by monitoring and controlling production processes in manufacturing industry.Besides,SPC plays an important role in ISO/TS16949,therefore manufacturer of automobile-related products has to fulfill SPC in its production units.This paper is to introduce iQV ( Integrated Quality Viewer),an SPC total solution,which can be deployed effectively and efficiently in steelmaking companies.It is to describe the iQV framework based on SPC theory,and its role in the whole enterprise information architecture.Being different from traditional SPC,iQV emphasizes in integrated quality management with whole process data integration and product quality tracing back.iQV not only provides basic SPC functions,but also enhances in data analysis and data extraction,so that it makes iQV an integrated SPC total solution.The basic SPC functions are the kernel part of iQV,and can be used to monitor the KIV/KOV trends according to the process standards.While data analysis,which includes report,data query and data download,is a great useful part of iQV solution.And data extraction is also important to integrate different real-time data sources.The paper will also introduce the real business cases and the benefits of iQV-developed BPC ( Basteel integrated Process Control) systems in Shanghai Baosteel.Ever since 200I,BPC has played a very important role in quality management in Shanghai Baosteel.In 2008 Shanghai Baosteel BPC won the first prize of Shanghai Baosteel Group ' s technology innovation,while in 2009 it was honored to won the first prize of the national Metallurgical Technologies & Science again.Finally,the paper will explain future trends of the SPC total solution.A knowledge base might be provided to establish for fast prototype establishment.And SPC might communicate mutually with other information systems to fulfill more tasks of real- time control.And new cloud technologies might be introduced to iQV platform as well.Besides,experience of iQV solution in steelmaking companies might be spread to other manufacturing industries,such as semiconductor,non- ferrous metal,shipbuilding,etc.
