"菲德拉情结"作为经典的文学母题,与其相关的作品在文学史上不在少数,剧作家通过不断地改写经典,为其注入新的内涵。萨拉·凯恩作为直面戏剧的代表作家,因其作品中暴力血腥的描写而闻名,而《菲德拉的爱》也沿袭了她的创作风格,凯恩通过消解文本的神话色彩、转移叙事重心和融汇后现代文化等方式改写这一母题,使其成为"菲德拉情结"改写传统中别开生面的一部作品。
As one of the most typical literature motifs,Phaedra Complex constitutes quite a number of works' themes in the history of literature. Playwrights have been infusing new senses to it by rewriting the classics. Sarah Kane,as a representative writer facing the drama,is famous for her violent and bloody description of her works. And Phaedra's Love,one of her famous works,is in line with her works in terms of style. By dispelling the mythical elements,transferring the focus of narration and integrating the postmodern culture,Kane rewrote this motif,enabling this work to become unprecedented in the rewriting history of Phaedra Complex.
