摘要
应用语义学理论从语义关系和语义特征两个角度,用描述分析的方法讨论了对英语词汇进行深层次教学的必要性。指出运用语义学的理论进行词汇教学不仅能使学生习得词汇,掌握词汇的本质意义,而且还能培养学生同义词辨析能力;对词汇的深度讲解可以提高学生驾驭语言的能力,通过正确措辞实现交际目的,培养交际能力;词汇所蕴含的文化内涵也培养了学生的跨文化意识,丰富了学生的文化背景知识。
By applying semantic theory from the perspective of semantic relations and features,this paper examines the necessity of using in-depth teaching of English vocabulary by means of description and analysis. It is pointed out that the use of semantic theory for vocabulary teaching enables students to acquire words,grasps their referential meaning,and cultivates students' ability to discriminate synonyms. The in-depth English lexical teaching also enhances students' capability to use words appropriately. Good diction improves students' communicative competence. The cultural connotations of words develop students' cross-cultural awareness and broaden their cultural background knowledge.
