国际音标法与自然拼读法融合式英语教学探究

摘要
针对部分非英语专业大学生英语拼读能力较差,"哑巴"英语现象严重的现实,对国际音标法与自然拼读法的优缺点分析认为,国际音标法的优势在于所有英语单词都能利用音标来拼读,在教学中有利于强化学习者的语音意识,提高单词发音的准确性,但其缺点是不能准确地反映单词音形之间的关系,学习者常常需要借助词典等工具书通过查阅单词音标来学会拼读;自然拼读法则较好地反映了单词音形之间的联系,学习者通过辨识单词的音形关系就能学会拼读单词,这有助于学习者摆脱通过查阅字典等工具书来学习单词拼读的繁琐,但其不足之处在于并非所有的英语单词都存在明显的音形关系,很多单词只能通过查找音标实现拼读。因此,英语语音教学将国际音标法与自然拼读法融合应用从而实现优势互补是一个很好的选择。两种方法融合具有必要性和可操作性,可以帮助学习者顺利地学会单词的发音与拼读。
In view of the fact that some non-English majors in vocational colleges are so poor in English pronunciation and words spelling that they are called dumb English learners, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of theinternational phonetic alphabet(IPA) based spelling and natural spelling, and thinks that the advantage of the IPA based spelling lies in the fact that all English words can be spelled with international phonetic alphabets, which helps to strengthen students' phonetic awareness and improve the accuracy of words spelling. And the disadvantage of the IPA based spelling lies in the fact that it cannot reflect the relationship between pronunciation and word form well so that English learners have to rely on looking up in a dictionary frequently to spell words.And the advantage of the natural spelling lies in the fact that it shows the relationship between pronunciation and word form so clearly that students can spell English words correctly by identifying the relationship between pronunciation and word form, which helps students to get rid of the troubles caused by looking up in a dictionary. And the disadvantage of the natural spelling is that not all English words show obvious relationship between pronunciation and word form and lots of English words are spelled only by searching for related phonetic symbols in a dictionary. It is put forward that the integration of the IPA-based spelling with the natural spelling should be applied to the teaching of English phonetics to have complementary advantages. The integration of the IPA-based spelling with the natural spelling is expounded in aspects of the necessity, means and feasibility to help students learn the pronunciation and spelling of English words smoothly.
