摘要

清代丹阳地区出现了许多社会慈善机构,诸如育婴堂、保婴局等育婴类慈善机构;恤嫠会、崇节堂等清节类慈善机构;以及义冢、义渡、惜字会等不同类型的慈善机构。慈善机构的发展也呈现出数量众多、种类齐全、功能明确等特点。这些机构或是官方设置,或是由地方士绅创办,都在社会救济方面起到了重要的作用。
        In the Qing Dynasty,there were a lot of charity organizations,baby feeding organizatiom Yuyingtang and Baoyingju; chastity-caring mechanisms Xulihui and Chongjietang,and other charity organizations like Yizhong,Yidu Xizihui,etc. These organizations were numerous in number,diverse in kind,and clear in functions. Some of the charity organizations were officially set up by the government,while others were set up by the local gentries,all of which played an important role in social relief.
