For the fruit and vegetable food wastewater discharged from processing unit of a food limited company in Hubei province has characteristics of high pollutant concentration, good biodegradability and high suspended solid content, flocculation sedimentation-UASB-A/O process was adopted for its treatment, the flow and design parameters of the process were introduced with the treatment effect pointed out at the same time. The operation results showed that the said process was a reasonable choice, the mass concentrations of CODCrand BOD5 in the effluent water reached 60-80 and 10-15 mg/L respectively, which stably met the requirement of table 4 of grade 1 in GB 8978—1996 Comprehensive Wastewater Discharge Standard.
