摘要
目前光纤通信系统正在向大容量、高速率、长距离等方向发展,使得原本对低速率系统而言可以忽略不计的非线性效应和偏振模色散(PMD)等光纤性能缺陷成为限制系统升级和传输距离的主要因素。因此,偏振模色散是目前国际上在光纤通信领域中讨论的热门话题之一。介绍了单模光纤中的偏振模色散及其产生的原因、偏振模色散的干涉法测量方法和测量原理,以及如何在实际应用中利用偏振模色散测量保偏光纤的拍长。
The optical fiber communication system is developing towards the trends of large capacity,high speed and long distance,making the nonlinear effect and polarization mode dispersion PMD and other optical fiber performance defects the main limiting factors for system upgrading and transmission distance.Therefore,polarization mode dispersion is one of the hot spots in the field of optical fiber communication.In this paper,the cause of polarization mode dispersion interferometry test was introduced.Polarization mode dispersion was used to measure the beat length of the polarization maintaining fiber.
