Objective To detect NK cell and T lymphocyte levels in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and analyze the clinical significance. Methods A total of 84 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from April of 2016 to January of 2018 were selected as esophageal cancer group. A total of 84 healthy persons who underwent physical examination in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected as control group at the same time. NK cell(CD56~+) and T lymphocyte(CD8~+, CD4~+, CD3~+) levels in peripheral blood of patients were detected and analyzed. Results The levels of CD56~+ and CD8~+ in esophageal cancer group were higher than those in control group, and the levels of CD4~+,CD3~+ were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001). The levels of CD56~+ and CD8~+ in stage Ⅲ patients in esophageal cancer group were higher than those in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and the levels of CD56~+ and CD8~+ in stage Ⅱ patients were higher than those in stage Ⅰ, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The levels of CD4~+ and CD3~+ in stage Ⅲ patients in esophageal cancer group were lower than those in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and the level of CD3~+ in stage Ⅱ patients was lower than that in stage Ⅰ, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The CD8~+, CD4~+, CD3~+ and CD56~+ levels were compared between patients with or without lymph node metastasis in esophageal cancer group, and the differences were statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The cellular immune function of patients with esophageal cancer declines, and the cellular immune function decreases with the increase of clinical stages.
