Based on the theory of stratified homogenization,a numerical method to obtain equivalent elastic modulus of masonry consisting of a series of represent layers was proposed. The method, which takes into account the influence factors of unitssizes, can be applied to various types of masonry with stratified features, including Tibetan historical masonry. An brick masonry consisting of specific bricks and mortar, and compressive test results of two groups of stacked stone prisms were taken as examples, the elastic modulus obtained by the proposed method is close to the testing results.Equivalent elastic modulus of the Tibetan historical stone masonry was obtained, which paves the was for the study of the behaviors of Tibetan historical stone masonry.
