The placenta dysplasia is one of the main causes for the failure of the somatic cell clone, but its mechanism is poorly understood.Wnt signaling pathway is widely involved in life processes such as cell fate determination, fetal development and placental formation and so on.Real-time quantitative PCR and in situ hybridization were employed to detect the expression and localization of Wnt2 during bovine placenta and found that Wnt2 mRNA was more abundant in cotyledon tissues and located mainly in cotyledon trophoblastic cells. These results indicated that Wnt2 may play an an important regulating function during placental development in dairy cows.New molecular targets are found to solve the placenta dysplasia.
