Although there is no desert and large areas of concentrated sandy land in Yunnan province,it is still one of the provinces with serious land desertification caused by soil erosion, landslides and debris flows. By monitoring desertification, and regularly getting information about the present situation and the dynamic changes of desertification in Yunnan province, the study can help provide evidence for the sand prevention policy made by the country and Yunnan Province, and its long-term development plan as well as for the protection, improvement and rational utilization of land resources and the ecological civilization construction in Yunnan province so as to supply basic material for its sustainable development strategy. Based on the analysis of the reasons of land change in desertification in Yunnan province and the situation of control, this paper provided suggestions for the next step of sand prevention and control in Yunnan Province.
