In order to study the influence degree of small reservoirs on the flood process in the small basin, based on the three sources Xin'anjiang model, the self-overflowing virtual reservoir was introduced to improve the production flow links. And then a basin flood forecasting model affected by unregulated small reservoirs was established. The improved Xin'anjiang model was applied to the simulation of the basin.Compared the improved and unimproved Xin'anjiang model results,it shows that the improved Xin'anjiang model has good adaptability to the Shouchangjiang Basin and can significantly improve the accuracy of flood simulation. The research results can provide reference for basin flood forecasting caused by unregulated small reservoirs.
