Objective To compare image quality and T1rho value of liver MRI using MS BLOCK T1rho, MS HS8 T1rho and 3 D BLOCK T1rho sequences. Methods Totally 40 healthy volunteers were enrolled. MR scanning was performed using MS BLOCK T1rho(n=33), MS HS8 T1rho(n=34) and 3D BLOCK T1rho(n=22) sequences. The image quality and T1rho value were compared among these sequences. The correlation of T1rho value among three sequences were evaluated with Pearson correlation analysis. Results Statistical differences were found in image quality and T1rho value among three sequences(both P<0.01). The image quality and T1rho value of MS HS8 T1rho sequence were higher than those of the other two sequences(all P<0.05). T1rho value of MS BLOCK T1rho was positively correlated with MS HS8 T1rho and 3D BLOCK T1rho(r=0.59, 0.73, both P<0.05), and MS HS8 T1rho was positively correlated with 3D BLOCK T1rho(r=0.72, P<0.05). Conclusion MS BLOCK T1rho, MS HS8 T1rho and 3D BLOCK T1rho sequences can be used in MR imaging in healthy human. However, different references ranges should be set for diagnosis of liver diseases.
