Based on the Culture of Congestion in Asia, the Japanese urban architecture stands for a unique architectural typology. Because of this, the author thinks that the Japanese architecture is different from the traditional European architecture. The Japanese architects focus on the congestive urban environment and the unpredictable function requirement. Thus, the ergonomics, the fluidity and the farrago, which are first proposed by European architects, appear in the Japanese architectures. Finally, the paper will argue these characteristics by three Japanese architectures.
