摘要

形声字具有强大的构字功能,是构成汉字系统的主体。意符和声符是构成形声字的两大部件。意符具有表示字的意义范畴和类别的作用;声符除了有示音功能外,还兼有表意作用。形声字声符表意可以从内部、外部两个角度进行分析:外部着眼于表意声符在表示形声字字义时的形式特点;内部着眼于表意声符表意个数及声符义与形声字义的关系。
        As a subject in the establishment of Chinese character system, pictophonetic characters have the strong capability of forming characters. Ideographic signs and phonetic signs are two fundamental elements of pictophonetic characters. Ideographic signs function as representations of the character's category and scope. Phonetic signs function as representing sounds, but also hold the role of expressing meanings. Consequently,this essay focuses on the meaning of phonetic sign. It discusses the number of meanings that phonetic signs can represent, as well as the relationship between the phonetic sign's meaning and pictophonetic character's meaning.
