This paper studied inhibition effects of different concentrations of Momordica charantia extract on four common bacteria in veterinary clinical by using drilling method and double dilution method, and determined their effects on the growth curve of four bacterial strains. The results showed that 10 mg/mL of Momordica charantia extract exhibit the strongest inhibition on Escherichia coli and Salmonella, but its inhibition on Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus was not significant. The minimum inhibitory concentrations(MIC) of Momordica charantia extract against four strains was 2.5 mg/mL, 2.5 mg/mL, 5 mg/mL and 10 mg/mL, respectively. These results suggested that Momordica charantia extract has strong inhibition effect on common bacteria in veterinary clinical.
