摘要
Tess of the D'Urbervilles is recognized as one of the greatest works in the history of English and world literature, and Thomas Hardy is a great realistic writer. The thesis is going to employ the theory of ecofeminism to analyze Tess of the D'Urbervilles, pointing out the close relationship between Tess and nature, which is to embody the intimacy and harmony of women and nature. And under the oppression of European patriarchal thought, Tess' s tragic fate is inextricably linked to male oppression.
