环境能够长久陪伴老人,通过环境设计激发老人的情感、引导老人主动做事十分重要。作者提出了"情动设计"的理念,即通过访问、调研以及观察老人的行为,充分了解老人的生理和心理需求,综合各学科专家的意见,最终设计出为老人带来健康和幸福感、引发积极情绪的场所。作者通过在日本设计的养老机构、日间照料设施、地域交流场所等多个实例,生动地诠释了"情动设计"理念。
