英语音标体系的发展转向与音标教学的误区及应对

摘要
从英语音标的定义及数量、国际音标与英语音标的关系以及英语音标体系的更新变化、"基本元音系统"与"普通英国英语"元音音标几个方面,重点论述了现代英语语音学理论从Jones体系到Gimson体系的理论转向,详细阐述了Gimson对EPD第14版的修订内容,找出了英语音标教学中存在的问题及国内英语音标教学误区,并给出了应对策略。
Covering the aspects ranging from the definition and quantity of English phonetic symbols, the relationship between the International Phonetic Alphabet and English phonetic symbols, and the update and the change of English phonetic system, up to the "Cardinal Vowel" system and the "General British English" vowel phonemes, this article has discussed the theoretical turn from the Jones system to the Gimson system of modern English phonetics theory and has expounded the details that Gimson elaborated on the revision of the 14~(th) edition of EPD. It has also found out the problems in the teaching of English phonetic symbols and the mistaken ideas for the teaching of English phonetics in China, and put forward the corresponding strategies.
