摘要
本文是基于作者参与的一项欧盟博士研究项目所做的一个深度访谈。作者就博士生的培养目的、导师指导模式、博士论文写作及答辩和评审要求,以及国际博士研究生的语言和文化身份认同等问题采访了著名学者、博士生导师李宇明教授。李宇明教授从语言学学科视角出发,深入阐释了他作为博士生导师的教育使命、治学思想和博士培养理念,生动描绘了"同门"这个学术共同体里导师与学生之间的学术和情感关系在博士培养过程中的重要作用,体现了具有中国特色的教育培养模式和师生关系。李宇明教授也指出,目前我国博士培养管理和评价体系方面存在着制约学术创新的因素,指出导师重在"导"而不在"师",未来博士教育要防止"本科化"倾向,要重视理论思维培养和博士论文成果的利用,处里好国际化与本土化的关系。李宇明教授的教育思想和前沿理念不仅对我国博士培养教育有重要启示,也为国外高等教育研究机构博士培养提供了参考模式和有意义的借鉴。
This semi-structured interview is a part of an EU-funded project EUROMEC on the international study of processes and outcomes of doctoral studies in different countries.The author interviewed Professor Li Yuming about the purpose of doctoral studies,supervision modes,thesis writing and viva process as well as the language and cultural identity formation of the international students during their doctoral studies.From the perspective of linguistics discipline,Professor Li Yuming expounds his educational ideology and beliefs in cultivating doctoral students,gives a detailed description of the roles played by tongmen(doctoral students of the same supervisor)as an academic community in supporting the international doctoral students both academically and emotionally.Professor Li Yuming also points out the constraining factors in the existing doctoral educational system and assessment mechanism.Against the background of globalization in education,Professor Li emphasizes on the role of"guiding"instead of"teaching"of the supervisor,and doctoral education should pay much attention to the cultivation of theoretical thinking skills,to the application of the doctoral theses to the real world and to the relationship between globalization and localization.These suggestions and cutting-edge conceptions are not only important for the doctoral education of Chinese universities but also have meaningful implications for the higher education institutions across the globe.
