The overlap ratio of different ratio of welding beads width to height was studied. The variation law of the width to height ratio and the overlap rate was found out by using binomial fitting and the corresponding optimal lap rate was found. It is found that the overall weld overlap error is small when the large ratio of welding beads width to height is used. At the same time, under the same overlap rate, the phenomenon of non-coincidence between welding wire and weld bead center of the first and second beads and the second and subsequent beads was analyzed theoretically. It is concluded the force P_A of the previous melted weld on the latter droplet is smaller when the width to height ratio is larger than that when the width to height ratio is smaller.
