Gongyi City has 283 mines, of which 174 are open-pit mines, accounting for 61.5% of the total. Open-pit mining, while exploiting resources, also brings a series of geological environmental problems, such as vegetation and topography landscape destruction, slope instability, occupation and destruction of land resources, accelerating the deterioration of ecological environment. In this regard, in order to implement the central government's requirements for vigorously promoting the construction of ecological civilization, minimize the damage to the geological environment in the process of exploitation of mineral resources in Gongyi City, adhere to the priority of ecology and protection, and strengthen the protection of natural ecology by resource management, so as to form a mine with coordinated development and protection. New pattern of production and development.
