政治语篇中戏剧隐喻的英译研究——以《毛泽东选集》为例

认知语言学认为,隐喻是人类的一种普遍思维方式和认知工具。戏剧隐喻是在政治语篇中最为常用的隐喻模式之一,其隐含的丰富文化信息不仅为政治语篇增添了语言艺术魅力,还有助于正确理解抽象的政治概念。以《毛泽东选集》中的戏剧隐喻为例,探讨戏剧隐喻在政治语篇中的英译,通过保留、补全、转换或隐去源语隐喻意象等方式来传达隐喻意义。译者应从认知层面剖析隐喻产生的心理基础,在尽可能保留原作的形式下传递隐喻所蕴藏的文化内涵信息。
Cognitive linguistics holds that metaphor is universal in human thinking and cognition. Drama metaphor, a most commonly used metaphorical mode in political discourse, not only adds the charm of language art to political discourse, but also helps to correctly understand the abstract political concepts with its underlying cultural connotation. This paper discusses the English translation of drama metaphors in political discourse with the examples taken from Selected Works of Mao Tse-tung. The translation methods mainly include preserving, interpreting, converting and deleting metaphorical images of the source language to convey metaphorical meaning. The translator should analyse the psychological foundation of metaphor from the cognitive level and keep the original form as much as possible to convey the cultural connotation in metaphor in the process of translating drama metaphors in political discourse.
