This study, based on a 10-month-long follow-up survey of 466 pairs of parents of children aged 3-6, aims to explore the bidirectional relationship between parenting self-efficacy and parental involvement. The results show the following:(1) In two tests, the fathers scored significantly lower than the mothers in parenting self-efficacy, home-school communication, participation in school affairs, and the family's involvement;(2) with the passage of time, the fathers and the mothers got insignificantly changed scores in parenting self-efficacy; the fathers merely scored higher in participation in school affairs, and the mothers merely scored higher in home-school communication and participation in school affairs; the fathers and mothers tended to show diversified features from individual to individual; and(3) the paternal involvement could be used to significantly and positively predict the fathers' parenting self-efficacy, and the mothers' parenting self-efficacy could be used to significantly and positively predict the maternal involvement.
