The internship onboard ship is a key link for marine engineering students to improve their professional skills and professionalism. The survey found that, in the process of students' onboard internship, there exist majors problems such as unreasonable design of internship program, defects in student management, incomplete evaluation of internship, etc., which weakened students' enthusiasm, reduced participation of instructors, and significantly affected the outcome of internship. To solve these problems, it needs to start from the aspects of clarifying the rights and obligations of both schools and enterprises, introducing dual tutor system, and promoting the refined evaluation, and comprehensively and systematically improve students' internship program to enhance the effectiveness of school-ship joint guidance.
